lyrics

I will write short stories without any ending
How the universal dream is so condescending
Sit down, think a lot
Think it through
And if the words are picked right, written under candlelight
Pen and paper held tight, gonna be a long night
It just might be enough to make them true

Sometimes wolves are separated from the pack
And it's a long hard journey to find a way back
Maybe sometimes we're better off alone
I'm taking back roads, side streets
Ending up where ends meet
Cold night, cold feet
Feeling rather obsolete
Just might be enough to make it home

You were there, up there singing from your rooftop
I was listening below singing "Never ever stop singing
your song, sing it proud"
There in the street I was shuffling my feet
With my lit cigarette, it tasted so sweet
We were moving around, and we were proud

I will write short stories without any ending
How the universal dream is so condescending
Sit down, think a lot
Think it through
And if the words are picked right, written under candlelight
Pen and paper held tight, gonna be a long night
It just might be enough to wake up drunk
